More sleep, please?!
Isaac is starting to sleep longer at night (I hope I'm not setting myself up for an all nighter by posting this). For the most part he goes 6 hours without eating and 5 hours of sleep before his first wake up, then eats and heads back to sleep for another 3 hours. So, a typically night would look like this: Nurse at 7:30pm Bath Book Swaddle Asleep by 8:30pm Up around 1:30am-2am Eat Back to sleep by 2 or 2:30am Asleep until 5:30am Ok..I think you get the point. Well, so, I've been rocking Isaac to sleep at night. With his belly and bad digestion, I can't bring myself to put him in his rocker and let him cry. There will be a time and place for that, maybe if I can get through it, but the time is not right now!! I never thought I would be the mom that rocks her baby, but I've come to LOVE it. It's my favorite part of the day and no matter what's going on in my world, or how tired I am, everything seems to make sense in those moments. Last night it was Austin's turn to put Isaac to bed. We're attempting to rotate a schedule, so we both get time putting him to sleep and he learns to go to sleep no matter who's home. So into the room Austin went and out he came five mintues later. I was shocked. "He's asleep already", I asked. "No, wide awake and in his rocker". He made a few fussing cries, to which Austin went back in to comfort him and back to sleep he want. And get this, he slept until 4AM! That's right, his schedule looked more like this: 6:45pm-Nurse Bath Book Swaddle Sleep by 8:15pm AWAKE AT 4AM!! I on the other hand was awake at 3am, just waiting for him to wake up. Thankfully I was able to fall back to sleep until I heard him fussing around 4am! I couldn't believe it. Let's hope Austin's method works again tonight! (on a side note, it makes me sad to think that my baby might not NEED me to rock him to sleep! now I understand why mom's get themselves in a position where they are doing something that is more just for their comfort than the kids.)
