Isaac was extra sleepy after being born, and didn’t care much for being woken up and fed. In fact, he didn’t seem to care if he ate at all. It was a struggle, as the nurses were pushing for us to try formula, as his weigh decreased; we were finally able to set up our own routine and establish great eating habits. To spare many of the details, we came home with a schedule for feedings:
- Wake up every three hours
- Pre-feed-finger feed
- Trying nursing for NO longer than 15 minutes
- Post feed with breast milk
- Pump for next feeding
Thankfully, when my sister was here last she pumped a bunch of milk and put it in our freezer. I joked, saying It would come in handy if Baby Stutz arrived early and my milk didn’t come in. My milk did come in, but her milk saved us from going on formula! Thanks Frampta!!
