Pictures...I know

I know, I know. I said I would post pictures last week and didn't, but isn't it just good enough that I'm actually updating more often??? Ahhh...Ok, I'll post pictures...next week though!

On the move

Its official, Isaac is moving and moving fast. He can now go from the crawling position, to the sitting up position and back again. He’s much happier now that he can move his body the way he’s wanted to for a while. He is more “bear” crawling than anything. He takes a few “crawls” in a tradition crawling position, realizes it would take him way too long to get where he wants to go and then drops onto his belly and bear crawls the rest of the way. He’s fast! The days of just running outside real quick are O.V.E.R!!! That’s ok that, I’m embracing and enjoying every stage, even the two feedings a night! This time is too precious to not enjoy one stage or another.

sleeping..or lack there of

We started sleep training, for the 3rd time, last night. It didn’t go so well, for any of us, but hopefully tonight will be better. Isaac continues to get up twice a night and it’s about time this Mama got a good 7 hours of straight sleep! Although, I know what will happen; Isaac will adjust just fine and it will take my body an extra week to realize I don’t have to wake up to feed him. At least in the end, we’ll both end up with more sleep, hopefully.

Sick Nugget

Isaac has had a terrible cough and cold the last week or so. It seems every time I take him to see the Dr. they tell me the same thing, “it’s viral, and you have to let it run its course”. So this time, no trip to the Dr. just lots of love, Vicks and medication. Thankfully it sounds like he is on the upswing of things, which is a relief because I don’t love having a sick baby.

Pictures

Ok, so I know pictures are the best part of a blog, at least I think so! I promise to upload some this week!! I'll even try to find ones that aren't on facebook!

Baby Bird

Now that the weather is getting cooler, Isaac and I have been venturing out for morning walks. It is so nice to finally be able to get outside, I swear I have cabin fever and it’s summer time! With the sun being as hot as it is here, it’s hard to go for a walk when it’s 100 or above, mainly because I feel like I’m burning Isaac by doing so. Even with extra shade and mounds of sun block, it just doesn’t seem right. Thankfully the “HOT” period is over, now it’s just 98 out! But I’ll take that over 108 for now. I’m looking forward to the cooler days, when it’s actually cool during the middle of the day and we can get outside after 10am.

Anyway, back to my story. So our walks. I strive to go at least 2 miles, just to make it more of a workout/calorie burning session for me. Lately, Isaac has been looking back and up at me, just making sure that I’m still there, I guess. The other day I took a banana with me, thinking I would eat it for breakfast. Boy was I wrong. Isaac got one glimpse of that and wanted his part in it too! So every few minutes, he would tilt his head back and look up at me, mouth wide open, just waiting for me to drop a piece of banana in there. “Hello baby bird, yes, I see you, yes I know you want food…here you go”.

Downward Dog

Isaac is still not crawling, in the tradition sense. He does get where he wants to go and move around VERY well. Thankfully, at least for the moment, we are past the irritated stage. For a while there, he would try to crawl, give up, lay face down and cry with his arms and legs up in the air. It was cute at first, but then we both became irritated. Now he’s much more content playing and moving around by himself again, which is great, because I like to get some stuff done while he’s up and playing! (Don’t get me wrong, I love to sit with him and play, and we have some great times together, but there are times when he’s playing without me and I sneak away-always within eye sight-to do the dishes, fold the clothes or read a magazine!)
Over the last week, he’s decided he would much rather push off his hands and stand on his feet, similar to the “downward dog” position in yoga. Oh, it’s precious. I really should get it on camera one of these days.

Feeding himself

Goodbye baby food, hello small cut up piece of “adult” food. Yes, Isaac is loving feeding himself. He takes a bite, follows it up with a loud “ummmhhhhh” and goes for the next handful of food! We do our best to get in a few bits of “baby” food, just to make sure he’s getting enough to eat, but for the most part he would much rather have real food. Can’t say I blame him!

Where did the time go?

Is this even the same baby?? How did he get so big? I'm guessing I'll be wondering that for the rest of his life...

Love this precious face!

Fav Pic

This is one of my favorites at the moment, he's already changed so much since that day a few months ago! Can't get over how stinkin' cute he is! Love you little man!

Michelle's Visit...a few months late

Michelle came to visit for a long weekend, back in June! here are some of the favorites from that visit!

Hanging out at the coffee shop, our favorite place!

Playing in the morning!

Pictures!

Isaac loves to eat and enjoys using his sippy cup as a teether! He doesn't get a ton of water in his mouth, but he sure does get a ton of it all over him! Good thing bath time usually follows dinner!

This one a great gift from Auntie Amanda and Auntie Laura, before Isaac was even born! He loves the O-ball!

Pictures

I know...these pictures are nuggets and you can't see them. I'm about to leave work to see my Bunting, so I will fix them tomorrow and maybe even add a couple more!!!

Happy Wednesday...

Welcome back!

After 6 months of chaos, I finally feel like my life is starting to have balance again. I can actually leave the house without forgetting something important, I can go out with friends, leave Isaac home with his Daddy, find time to work out and even get a few hours of shut eye. Oh, it’s good to be back to my “normal” self.

I’m still working part time, and LOVE the days I get to spend with Isaac. Although I must say, come Tuesday morning, I’m ready to head back to work. It’s a great balance between working and being able to stay home with him. Plus, he loves that he gets to see his cousins every morning. They don’t love that they can no longer hold him like a baby, as he only likes to sit up now, and have moved on to hold Cohen instead (another little boy at daycare!). But they still spoil him with lots of hugs and kisses, and I know he just eats that up!

Our summer is going well, I’m not going to lie, I will be beyond thrilled when I can take a walk any time during the morning, not just at 6:15am! The summer here is like winter back home, you can’t really go outside, and boy do I have a case of cabin fever. Which might be part of the reason I like going to work three days, at least I get out of the house.

Isaac is growing up so fast, this Monday he’ll be more than half way through his 6 months. Where did the time go? He’s talking up a storm, and by talking, I mean babbling. Sitting up like a big boy, trying to crawl and eating tons and tons of food. He loves all his fruits and veggies and would sometimes prefer to eat real food over milk. He just started sleeping longer at night. I’m hoping this is the start of something that will stick around for a while.

Also hoping I’ll stick around for a while, and start updating this blog on a more regular basis…no promises!

To blog or not to blog?

I love reading everyone else blog, which you would think, would push me to blog more often, but for whatever I don’t. I know I should, I want to be able to update more, and yet still, I don’t!
Maybe June will bring some inspiration to get on here more often…we’ll see.

Snuggle up, butter cup!

Little I was sick with a fever this past week. Thankfully it’s gone, but those two days weren’t very fun. He tried so hard to be happy, as his Babcia would say, “he doesn’t want to cry”, but would still end up whining and wanting to be held. So that’s what we did, hung around at home, being held! He’s feeling much better now and back to his old self, with the exception of his sleep. He’s now decided that he would like to get up and eat every three hours again. What happened to my 7 and 8 hours of sleep each night? I miss those days!!! I have no idea how to get him back to that place, mainly because he was the one who put himself there in the first place. I can only pray he turns a corner soon.

“so they all rolled over….”

“And one fell off”….No, Isaac hasn’t fallen off anything…yet. (I’m sure it’s coming, or will happen one day). For now he’s just rolling over. Last Friday, his Auntie Amanda’s Birthday, he decided to roll over during our Mommy/Baby Group. From his belly to his back!! What a big boy. I think he’s now working on going from his back to his belly, which I’m dreading because that will mean no swaddle, no swaddle means “how do I get him to bed” and sleeping longer??? Ahhhh…changes are coming.

Oh well, someone once told me the only think consistent with a baby is change. Guess I just need to embrace that and move on.
Once I figure out how to upload video I will post the video of his accomplishments!

Family Photos

Took the opportunity to capture a few family photos this past weekend...

Cousins

Isaac is LOVED by his cousins. Whenever they come over, they are always asking if they can hold him. They love talking to him, giving him hugs and trying to make him laugh. He is one blessed boy to have so much love!

Easter Trails...

Every year, for as long as I can remember, the Easter Bunny has left a trail leaning to our “Easter presents”. This year, my mom (THE BUNNY!) made Isaac’s first Easter trail! I, of course, had to pick up the M&Ms for him, but it sure looks like he was having fun! Daddy will enjoy the Easter treats! I love that the tradition will live on with Isaac...

Mini Photo Shoot

Michelle and I did a little mini photo shoot with Isaac. He wasn’t in the best mood and the lighting was off, but the pictures were too cute not to share!
